Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA)
Serving Chapel Hill NC
Lily Burr is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) proudly serving tweens, teens, and young adults in Chapel Hill, NC. She offers both in-person therapy and virtual counseling sessions for clients across North Carolina. Lily is passionate about helping young people navigate emotional challenges, build confidence, and develop practical skills that support long-term mental wellness.
Lily earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Health from American University in Washington, DC, and her Master of Social Work from Fordham University in New York City. Her clinical training prepared her to support adolescents and young adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, with a strong focus on teen and young adult mental health.
Families often seek Lily’s support when their child is struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress related to school and peer relationships. She understands that the tween and teen years can feel overwhelming, especially when academic pressure, social expectations, or attention challenges begin to impact confidence and daily functioning.
Lily works with tweens, teens, and young adults navigating ADHD, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, substance use issues, and life transitions. She helps clients strengthen emotional regulation skills, improve coping strategies, and build greater self-awareness. Her goal is to support young people in developing the tools they need to feel more confident, capable, and in control of their lives.
Lily takes a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to therapy. She tailors her work to each client’s unique personality, goals, and needs. Drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and social-emotional learning strategies, she helps clients better understand their thoughts, manage emotions effectively, and create meaningful change.
She is especially committed to creating an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ youth and their families in Chapel Hill and the surrounding area. Lily believes that with the right support, every young person can grow in confidence, resilience, and self-understanding.
Outside the therapy room, Lily enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring the Chapel Hill community, and connecting with friends and family.
