Meet Asya Coles

Asya is an open and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with a unique blend of backgrounds in theology and social work. Growing up in Eastern North Carolina, they were nurtured by the faith planted within them and a deep commitment to believing in people and their truth.

A proud graduate of North Carolina Central University, Asya earned their Bachelor’s in Social Work. They then pursued their Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity School and their Master of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they focused on Direct Practice and clinical social work. At Duke, they also earned certificates in Black Church Studies and Faith-Based Organizing, Advocacy, and Social Transformation.

Asya's professional mission is to bridge the gap between faith and the world of mental health, ensuring that all individuals—especially those from marginalized communities (LGBTQ+, BIPOC, etc.) —feel whole, loved, and seen. They are committed to creating inclusive environments where children, teens, and adolescents can thrive emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

With a strong foundation in both clinical practice and theological education, Asya is excited to support young individuals in navigating life, fostering support, and developing a rooted sense of identity and purpose.
