Meet Alyssa Anderson

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)

Alyssa is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Go Tar Heels! Her training prepared her to support individuals with and without disabilities, with an additional focus on psychiatric and developmental disabilities through her program’s dual track. Alyssa’s passion for helping individuals and families began in childhood.

During graduate school, Alyssa completed her clinical training with individuals experiencing co-occurring developmental and mental health challenges. She also supported young adults as they transitioned from high school to the workforce and into adult life.

Alyssa works with children, teens, and adults on a wide range of mental health and life challenges. She supports clients navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, social skills, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skill development. She tailors her approach to each person’s unique strengths and goals, helping them build coping strategies and practical skills to thrive in everyday life.

In sessions, Alyssa uses a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, drawing from person-centered therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She enjoys helping individuals better understand and manage their emotions, improve relationships, and develop the skills needed to succeed at school, work, and in life.

Outside the therapy room, you can find Alyssa at local coffee shops, out for a run, reading a good book, or spending time with her husband and their basset hound.
