Serving Fuquay-Varina and Cary, North Carolina

Alyssa Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) proudly serving children, teens, and young adults in Fuquay-Varina and Cary, NC. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill — Go Tar Heels! Her graduate training prepared her to support individuals with and without disabilities, with specialized focus on psychiatric and developmental disabilities through her program’s dual track. Alyssa’s passion for helping individuals and families began in childhood and continues to shape her work today.

During graduate school, Alyssa completed her clinical training with individuals experiencing co-occurring developmental and mental health challenges, including autism spectrum disorder. She developed particular expertise in supporting autistic children, teens, and young adults as they navigate social, emotional, academic, and life transitions. Families in Fuquay-Varina, Cary, and surrounding Wake County communities often seek her support for children who need structured, strengths-based guidance to build confidence and independence.

Alyssa works with children, teens, and young adults navigating autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, social skills concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and executive functioning skill development. She understands that many autistic individuals and those with ADHD experience overlapping challenges related to organization, time management, peer relationships, and emotional awareness. Her goal is to help clients better understand themselves while building practical skills that help them thrive at school, at work, and in daily life.

As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Alyssa has specialized experience supporting young adults as they transition from high school into the workforce. She works with individuals both with and without developmental disabilities, helping them build the social, emotional, and vocational skills needed to obtain and maintain meaningful employment.

For young adults in Cary and Fuquay-Varina preparing for independence, Alyssa provides guidance in

  • Identifying personal strengths and career interests

  • Building professional communication skills
  • Strengthening executive functioning and organization
  • Increasing confidence and self-advocacy
