Meet Cindy Hamilton

Hello! I’m Cindy Hamilton, a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with six years of clinical experience working with children ages 2+ with multiple diagnosis. I have greatly enjoyed working as a pediatric SLP as it has given me the opportunity to help children and their families learn about strategies to improve communication and connections. My approach to therapy is centered on fostering meaningful skills to improve each child’s quality of life.

Professional

I received my Masters of Science degree in Communication Disorders. I have three years of experience in an elementary school, working with children from preschool through eighth grade, addressing a variety of communication challenges. I then transitioned into in-home, early intervention, providing tailored therapy for children and collaborating closely with families in their natural environments. Most recently, I worked in a private clinic, where I worked with children ages 2 to 15, supporting children with multiple diagnoses. Throughout each stage of my career, I have been committed to working within multidisciplinary teams and partnering with families to create individualized, impactful therapy plans.

Areas of Specialty

  • Children and young adults diagnosed with Autism
  • Children and young adults diagnosed with an Intellectual Disability
  • Articulation and phonology, expressive and receptive language, and social communication
  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
  • Executive Functioning Therapy, training with Kate Melillo, CCC-SLP
  • Providing strategies and resources for parents who are supporting their child or young adult who is having challenges related to these diagnoses
