Meet Dedra Chavis

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

I’m a therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting children, teens, and adults through life’s challenges. My background includes work in schools, outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, and in-home services. As a former special education teacher, I have a deep understanding of K–12 student needs and family systems.

I specialize in trauma-informed care and enjoy working with neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, autism), as well as those navigating anxiety, identity, emotional regulation, or self-esteem issues. My approach blends cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, experiential work, and body-based tools to support healing and growth.

I offer in-person sessions for clients 7+ and telehealth sessions for clients 13 and older, as well as parent coaching. While I don’t provide couples therapy, I help individuals strengthen their relationships with others - and themselves.
