Cortex Club - Social Skills

Cortex Club

Social Skills & Advocacy

Social relationships are one of the fundamental keys to a happy life for many people! Not only can having great friendships provide us with fulfillment, but the social skills gained throughout our lives help us to navigate relationships across so many settings!

We also believe that not everyone’s social brain is built the same - so “teaching social skills” really isn’t a “one size fits all” model.

Instead, we believe that social skills should be based on understanding perspective-taking, rather than conformation.

Introducing The Cortex Club - Social Skills & Advocacy

The focus of the Cortex Club groups is to:

  • Help individuals define their interests, and communicate this effectively to others
  • Provide a supportive environment to practice friendship skills like listening, sharing, and compromising
  • Learn and use perspective-taking skills to solve social dilemmas
  • Work on flexibility and problem solving in a social setting
