Meet Allison
Allison works with children as young as 6 years old, teenagers, and young adults. Allison’s approach with her clients is dynamic, and allows individuals to direct their own interventions.
Allison empowers others by supporting clients during their most vulnerable moments in life while finding the tools to encourage healing. She utilizes creativity and her knowledge of child development to develop individualized, best practice interventions for children and adolescents. She utilizes play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems and trauma informed practice to work with ages 6-18 years old. Her approach for children is multisystemic to allow for best outcomes involving all stakeholders in the child’s life to help them reach their highest potential.
Her areas of interest include anxiety, autism, depression, trauma, ADHD, parenting skills, and family communication.
About Allison
Allison was born and raised in Wake County, NC. She obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. While at ECU, Allison spent much of her time volunteering with the special needs population and educating others on the importance of inclusion. After graduation, she pursued a clinical route of practice as she has always had a love for children, adolescents, and young adults. Allison has worked in the school setting for students and families as well as advocacy for children with special needs.
Allison worked as a school social worker and has great knowledge of the school system, special education services, social skill development, parental support and community resources. Allison works to provide an environment where vulnerability is recognized as courage for all individuals of all ages, races, ethnicity, faith traditions, and disability status. Her personality and passion is energizing to youth, families, and young adults.
In her free time, Allison enjoys spending time with her husband, her son, and their two dogs. Her family often fosters dogs who need a place to crash until their furever home comes along! She loves to cheer on her husband at all of his sporting events and getting outside.
