Licensed Child & Adolescent Therapist – Part Time

Be a Problem Solver Services | Cary, NC or Chapel Hill, NC

About Be a Problem Solver Services

We’re a warm, collaborative practice with a strong focus on child and adolescent counseling best practices, neurodiversity, and executive functioning. We currently have a growing waitlist for youth services in Cary and Chapel Hill.

We accept BCBS, United, Aetna, and private pay.

The kind of clinician this role is for:

We’re hiring a therapist who wants to build a caseload focused on children, adolescents, and families - and who can consistently meet families when they’re available: after school and into the evening.

Schedule requirement:

This role requires a minimum of 3 evenings per week, seeing clients until at least 7:00pm (for example, 2:00pm–7:00pm+). If you’re looking for a primarily daytime (9–5) schedule or mostly adult clients, this won’t be the right fit.

Caseload focus

Comfortable treating children and adolescents

Interest and competence in common youth concerns: ADHD, ASD, ODD/behavior concerns, anxiety, mood concerns, family stressors, and executive functioning skill-building

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • North Carolina license (full or associate): LCMHC/LCMHCA, LCSW/LCSWA, LMFT/LMFTA
  • Professional liability insurance
  • Credentialed with (or willing to be credentialed with) BCBS, United, and Aetna

Strongly preferred

  • Experience working with neurodiverse children and adolescents
  • Training in evidence-based child and adolescent modalities
  • Play therapy experience or interest (RPT a plus)

Role responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Complete timely documentation in SimplePractice
  • Provide evidence-based services, which may include child-centered/play therapy, attachment-informed care, behavioral parent training, and family systems approaches
  • While therapy services are generally conducted one to one, therapists are generally expected to meet with parents/caregivers of child clients to support skill development outside of the therapy sessions.

Compensation and support
This is a W-2 position with competitive hourly compensation and a modest benefits package.

You’ll also receive:

  • Ongoing referrals and marketing support
  • Full administrative support (scheduling, billing, and EHR)
  • Case consultation and ongoing clinical support by world-class clinical directors who specialize in treating youth
  • Official licensure clinical supervision available at a reduced rate for associate-licensed clinicians

Not a fit if

  • You need a daytime-only schedule
  • You prefer adult-only clients or older-teens-only caseloads
  • You’re not interested in building expertise with kids, parents, and family systems
  • You cannot commit to 3 evenings per week until 7:00pm+
